Democrats are gearing up for a massive showdown in 2020. As the battle for the nomination rages on the left, Trump and the Republicans are getting their war chest ready for what will sure be a war of attrition for Trump’s second term.
Of course, more questions remain. For example, how wounded will the 2020 Democratic nominee be? Because, as we have already seen during the first handful of Democratic debates, the field is stacked and candidates are not afraid to throw punches.
On the other hand, can Trump keep this economy going? No doubt that the positive economy has been Trump’s greatest asset during his presidency, but with more and more voices saying we’re due for a recession any day now, can Trump keep the economy going strong until election day? Only time will tell.
There is only one thing that’s for certain though, and that is that whoever challenges Trump in 2020 is surely in for a long campaign.
